Speakeasy Hotel Rm 2 King Room

The code provided to us never worked on the door. We called twice and were given only partially helpful advice. Other guests at the site helped us by giving us their code to enter the building. We spend far too much time trying to access the room. We paid for early arrival but when we got there 30-40 minutes after our early check in time, the maid was just finishing and had no idea we were coming in early. In addition, we never were able to access wifi with the codes given to us. We called to ask and were told that they would work on it. Upon leaving I asked another guest how she got on wifi and she told us a user name and password that we were not given to us. Very poorly managed although the room was really nice and comfortable.

Positive: The location was good and the room has a lot of character. There’s a coffee house downstairs, which was necessary since it’s not provided in the room. Negative: I paid for early check in (refunded) but couldn’t because the room had been used the night before and the cleaners didn’t clean it. I walked into a mess. They sent someone out to clean it but it was at a big inconvenience to me. The lock was low on battery and was inconsistent locking and unlocking. There is no parking for the hotel (disclosed) but the parking meter hours are adhered to so it’s a pain getting up in the AM to move the car. Earplugs were provided and necessary as the windows are historic and very thin. This room is also located at the top of the stairs with the most foot traffic passing it. There are zero provided amenities including water or coffee.
